    About the book

The Woman in White opens with a chance encounter on a moonlit road: a distressed woman, dressed entirely in white, emerges from the shadows and implores a young drawing teacher, Walter Hartright, for his help in escaping her pursuers. This extraordinary meeting sets off a chain of events that draws him into the lives of two sisters—one of whom bears an uncanny resemblance to the mysterious woman. As the story unfolds, a complex web of secrets and deceit emerges, involving a substantial family inheritance, a ruthless Italian aristocrat, and a devilish scheme that endangers those Walter has come to care for.

I ordered the Woman in White and the Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. The books are very well produced and the quality is on par with other fine presses such as the Folio Society (though these editions are noticeably cheaper and do have more numerous interior illustrations). I have not actually read these editions yet, so I cannot speak to a page-by-page internal quality. I would note: these were not as carefully packaged as they should be for the price point. They were sealed, but otherwise simply placed in a cardboard box with no protective packaging or cushioning. They arrived without damage, but that seems to be to a lucky occurrence. Better packaging is necessary at these price points.
